My "Why"

Though raised on the Yakama Reservation with native heritage, I grew up without a living connection to my ancestral practices.

I felt the sharp absence of tribe and tradition. Instead of letting that wound close, I decided to let it guide me.

I learned how to meet the harvest with both hands and heart, how to work with tools that have served humans for millennia, and how to honor the life that becomes our sustenance.

I got to know the plants around me, and am still learning about their medicine. I returned to the fire, the water, and the ancient arts of storytelling, ceremony, and drumming.

This is my journey of coming home, and I'm honored to share it with you, too.

HOW I CAN HELP YOU

  • ARCHERY

    Learn the ancient art of the bow with patient, hands-on guidance. Andrew teaches beginner archers foundational form, safety, and accuracy & more.

  • FISHING

    Discover the quiet rhythm of the water. Andrew teaches beginner anglers knot tying, casting techniques, fish handling & more, and can join you on the lake or river as a coach.

  • HUNTING

    From ethical preparation to field skills, Andrew helps new hunters step into this age-old practice with respect and competence — and can accompany you as a coach on your first trips to build confidence.

  • DRUM & RATTLE MAKING

    Craft your own hand drum or rattle using traditional methods and natural materials. Andrew guides you through each step, creating a tool you can use in ceremony or song.

  • ANIMAL PROCESSING

    Learn to ethically harvest, break down, and honor the animal that feeds you. Andrew offers both educational workshops and private instruction for hunters, farmers, and homesteaders.

  • KNIFE SHARPENING

    A sharp blade is a safe blade. Andrew offers expert sharpening to bring your knives back to life — whether for cooking, field dressing, or everyday use.

Outside of private instruction and services, you can find opportunities to connect with me, learn from me, or participate in a communal gathering with me in one of our many community offerings here at The Sacred Human Way. Together with my partner Kaci, and sometimes special guest leaders from our community, we hold a multitude of events, workshops and gatherings for community connection, self-sufficiency, and inner-work.
